Home does not always mean a physical place.

To me, home is the feeling I return to when I think of my child’s quiet nap, a peaceful weekend afternoon spent with someone I love, a shoulder that feels natural to lean on, or a familiar path I walk alone.

The soft layers of clothing in my paintings fold and overlap like memories. Within them are walking paths, night skies, small houses, books, children and pets, and the gestures of those I love. Gentle colors and repeated patterns softly hold these small yet tender scenes, while the figures remain close to one another with quiet intimacy. For me, these scenes are not simply recollections of days gone by, but precious things I wish to keep close, care for, and carry with me.

After passing through an unexpected season of life, I came to feel more deeply how precious, and how fragile, ordinary days can be. Those small, easily overlooked moments have become a quiet source of gratitude, gently sustaining my days.

I feel that love is less a grand event than a tender way of looking and caring, repeated in everyday life. Walking together, looking with warmth, waiting, staying close; at times, silently remaining beside someone. These small and quiet gestures stay folded within me, and take shape in my paintings as scenes nestled within soft layers.

With You, I am Home is a story about the gentle ease that comes from being together. The home I paint is not a space defined by walls and a roof, but a quiet comfort formed through layers of memory, care, and an affectionate gaze. In these moments, we hold one another and discover home beside those we love, and sometimes in the quiet companionship of nature.
